Tuesday night's wind storm wrought such havoc with telegraph wires that it is almost impos sible to obtain particularsof the damage done is tbe West. The destruction seems to le widespread in the State of Iowa, Illinois, Nebraska, Kansas and Missouri. Probably the greatest damage was done in Iowa, although reports from Ne braska indicate thntthat Statemay lead in loss of property and human life. Along the line of the Chicago, Milwau kce & St. Paul railroad, in Iowa and Nebraska the storm cut a wide swath. The town of Akron, in the former State, was wrecked, and Westfield, a few miles distant, was badly demoralized. Meagre reports from localities in the interior show that the devastation was general, although its full extent will not be known for several days, owing to lack of telegraphic facilities and the washing ut of country roads. Continuing along the railroad in Ne braska the storm swept up farm build- ings. fences and bridges and finally swopped down on the town ot rage which it wrecked. At tbis point the first loss of life was reported, Mrs. Clara Magee being the victim, tier two child ren were dangerously injured, and several other persons were hurt. The storm travelled with great veloc ity, covering the 200 miles between Akron and Page in an hour and a halt, Other damage was done father west but. owing to the complete prostration ot the telegraph wires, absolutely particulars are obtainable. Indianapolis, April 13. Advices from all over the State tell of heavy damage and loss of life by the storm of Tuesday night and Wednesday morning 1-lIGGINSVlLLE, Mo,, April 13.
