Ca bell of Texas submitted the report of the chairman of the Jefferson Davis niotiii meutlund, staling that $12,:!:i:' had been received lor the monument. The event of the dav took pi. ice when Gen. Clyde Miller, department com mander of the Grand Annv of the Re public in Alabama spoke in eompl: iiicutnrv tci ins of Gen. Gordon for sav ing the liie ol Geu. Francis C. Harlow ol the Federal army at Gettysburg, lie then presented Gen. Gordon with a handsome cane cut on Barlow's lid! ot Gettysburg, saying that Gen.
