The action of the committee was taken Icte In the afternoon after a iretlng lasting all day. Representative Vreeland appeared before the committee and made a lung argument In favor of his bill saying he thocsrht it would be criminal neg ligence for congress to adjourn with out oaesmg some measure of protec tion In the event of another panic this fs'l. He did not. however, think that a panic was Imminent. Mr. Vreeland, said that his bill was an emergency meusure only and he favored the ap pointing of a currency commission to consider a permanent banking and currency law. Hill Criticism. Representative Ebcnczer J.
