Errors at critical stages and ths
fcrsak of the pun Mused the down
fall of the Mountaineers before lbs
IXirham Bulls on ths local lot yes
terday afternoon, 4 to I. Ths locals
outhtt the visitors, thrss their hits
telng for sxtra bases, but six costly
bobbles, allowed ths Bulls to get
sway with the decision with but six
measly singles, ons of which was
tilstlnotly of a shaffron shads. This
was a bounder down ths third bass
lies, hit by W. Kelly In ths third,
Which snored Butts, who had received
a bass tn balls and stolen second.
Ths ball hit lnsids ths foul line, but
before it reached third It appeared
to be foul by several inches. Um
pire Van Busklrk called it fair to ths
strenuous objection of Rons, who was
sent to ths bench when ths argument
became too heated.
IdcKeithan pitched a food yam for
ths home folks and fielded his posi
tion in Jam-up style, deserving a vic
tory, but his team mates could not
back him up, ; Wares, at third, was
ths chief offender, making thres mis
cues, while Sausr 1st ths first run In
whsn he jugglsd Doyle's single to
left and let Butts romp home from
second. Ths hit was short and ths
cut would have been easy,
Ths fielding features of ths stuns
were a one hand stall by Illckard of
Gorham'a drlvs In the fourth and
Whltted's pet from deep right In ths
seventh, which cut off Oorham at ths
plats, Rkrkard backed up against ths
renter field boards and took Oorham'
r reamer on tlptJS.
Ths ooatsst was lost In ths slghth
r- nm two runs wsrs pushed across
with two down. Butts flew out to
conter. I. "Whittsd muffed W. Kelly's
V.igU ons, the runner going to second.
rorbett took Doyle's hUh ons. 3
Kelly was passed purposely and Mor
icith drove one against the left 'field
l oerds. Savers return to third lot
s way from Wares and J. Kelly fol
lowed the other across ths pan.
