Plana are progressing at a rapid rate for the formal opening of the Pack theater about February 13. at which time a special Initial per formance will be offered In addi tion to moving pictures. It Is ex pected that all work will be com pleted during the early part nf February and everything will be in order for the presentation of Ashevllle'e newest playhouse. The cigar store of I). 8. Schandler has been moved -fo the lobby of the theatre and work of completing the entrance from Biltmore ave nue is being pushed ahead. In the lobby will bo located the smoko shop of Mr. Schandler. a tlower booth and numerous other features. It is planned to have a modern barber shop on the lower floor of the lobby and everything is being arranged In the order of a metropolitan theatre. Tlio lob by of the playhuuse will be one of the main features and room is provided to accommodate larne crowds wailing for second per formances. The floor oi the theatre is bowl shaped and la said to bo the very latest in playhous designs, en abling all patrons to see the stage with equal easo from all parts of the house. The. stage will be ar ranged so that the largtst road show performance can lie han dled with the eaae of a Broadway theatre. A bond issae of $50, 000 is now authorized as the result of valiant work done last week by those who bellev. that the chil dren's Interests demanded a new building as soon us possible for it to toe built. Frank Williams, merchant and farmer, recently killed at his home near the town two 10 month old shoats weighing 416 and 418 pounds each, from which he got 213 pounds of lard.
