"The plan of having a tidetrack of the Buuthcrn railroad up South-; aide avenue to Gates park lia never been brought to my atten tion and 1 do not consider the plan feasible." H. J. Mulvaney, super intendent of the Aslicville division slated yesterday when asked in re gard to the proposed . spur. The superintendent pointed out that the only way In which a sidetrack could bo turned to run up South side avenue would be to cross lie pot street and tear out thousands of dollars worth of business property. Mr. Mulvaney asserted that the spur would be built by his de partment and if the matter was bolng handled with Southern offi cials It would eventually come back to hla offlco for information and othpr data concerning the construction. He stated that In addition to tearing out a right-of-way, it would also be necessary to make a curved track at a sharp angle. When asked in regard to the possibilities for railroad frontage on the Southern for business houses. Mr. Mulvaney expressed the opinion that tho warehouse to be erected by the Brown Hard ware company at Biltmore would be a forrunner of warehouse de velopment In that section. There Is considerable track frontage and located on a main thoroughfare, with practically a straight high way Into the city, It is considered to be an Ideal location for future business development, especially for warehouses, MUSIC FESTIVAL IS !
