The Albemarle & Pautego Rail Road commenced surveying Monday from Roper to Pautego and, we hear, wid soon continue the work down to ew Berne. A switch (or branch) is also being laid between Roper and Creswell. The Edenton Cornet Band has a Gall to the Fmnklin Fair next week. which will open Tuesday and last four days. If the boys go we wish them suc cess. The band is a good one and will doubtless satisfy the Franklin people in everv wav. The Editor of the Philadelphia Times , passed through Edenton last week and -left on the sloop Madge for Nag s Head i and other points in Dare.
