ELLRICH & CO., Plantsvillc, Conn. S Ilea d. POTTS WILL HANG. H akrisox, the Republican nom inee for President, seems to be 4,the wrong man in the wrong place'. As an evidence of Indiana sentiment read what the Indianapolis Labor Signal says : "The nomination of Mr. Harrison was a genuine surprise to the organ Jzed workingmen of this State, because their attitude towards that! gentleman is well understood and it does not seem possible that a con vention of sano men would invite confidence with a large number of votes in an extremely doubtful State by naming a candidate so objec tionable. Mr. Harrison's candidacy for the Senate, two years ago, aroused opposition among the labor organiza tions. It was expressed in scores of resolutions adopted by assemblies and unions. This paper opposed The re-asoa the boy stood on the burning deck was because it was too 3ir. Harrison's election to the Senate hot to sit down. Ex. A Raleigh letter to Virginian says : The superintendent! of the three insane asj-lums in this State have been called by the Governor to decide as experts whether W. A. Potts is or not insane. Thi3 noted case is arousing much attention. It may cause serious . trouble yet. It is believed the date of execution (now fixed for July 13) will be postponed. Later Gov. Scales has decided not to interfere in the case of W. A. Potts. Lincke's murderer. The best medical experts report that Potts is sane. It had been urged by Pott's parents that he was of unsound mind. But that was a slender reed on which to rest a hope. It gave way at the first touch. Potts will be hanged on the 13th and meet a just doom. If ever there was a cold blooded murder it was the assassina tion of Lincke. The Governor's action is felt to be proper in all respects.
