Glen springs sanitarium stands upon
a broad plateau nearly three hundred
feet above the lake, whose winding
course it overlooks for nearly thirty
miles No description can overate the
attractions of this place. After spend
ing perhaps, one of the most pleas
ant dars and nights of our trip, we
journeyed on to Buffalo, N. Y. This
city is destined to be the second largest
city in the state of New York-
Here we were impre-sed with thej
immense wealth which has centered
at this point. Buffalo Is noted f r its
beautiful streets and handsome resid
ences. Delaware Avenue perhaps
represents more wealth than any
other street in any American city.
This street is eleven miles in length
and on each side, is built the hand
somest residences, costing from frty
to two hundred thousand dollars each
It has two ro as of shade trees on each
side walk, the street and walks are
verv broad and in fro . of each resi
dence, is a be -.utifui" lawn or, park
containing staturary, fountains, flow
ers, and everything that will serve to
make it, "a beauty to behold" The
no fence law," seems to prevail here,
vou do not see any sigu of a fence,
not eyeu a little rail enclosure. Ad
rhe beauty is exposed 10 the passers
by, and you can plainly see that
each tries to excel! his neighbor in
having the handsomest giounds.
Here we begun to feel very hum bit
and poor, and our comfort in think-
in of our far off southern homes and
;hose le?t behind us, was that within
