Nellie Steele's balloon ascension Thursday came off as advertised and T3 a puccess in every particular- the Pavachute leap was made wuhouta cident and the lady fell on Feariag st. at the corner of Porindexter. In leav ing the smokestack the meuth of the balloon took fire and when this was seen bv the crowd of people great excitement prevailed, while the mea ran in the direction the balloon was going But with this the asceasion was made to about 1000 feet before : St. 'ct wiih the t'arachule at- made: excitement aras intense for a fetyrnin uets, notwithstancling this was the third balloon ascension witietsed here and there was a great feeling of rer lief when news cam that the lady hrd made a ouccesful landing.
