T1 ..ewly elected Council - men held their first meeting at the Court House Monday, Mayor Vann presiding. The election of officers was tlie first business transacted: tor Mayor, J. C. Warren and C. S Vann were put in nomination; oth candidates received two otes each, whereupon the May or jrave the casting vote for C. S. Vann. For Clerk, A, T. Bush and Thos. Elliott Avere nominated. hish was elected. For Treasurer, B. F. Elliott and A. E. White were nominat ed. White was elected. Ordered, that the election on constable, assistant police and the Attorney be postponed till next meeting. For Mayor pro-teni; J. C. War- ren and Jno. C. Bond were nom- nated Bond received three votes and was declared elected. The following resolution was passed: "RESOLVED, lhat dur- le- the two vears term of office of the present board of council- men nothing shall passsaici ooara unless there are three votes in avor of its passage, of which three the Mayor's vote may be one.
