Byrum, Reg of Deeds, Chowan Co., N.C. ANOTHER SUIT. TO INVALIDATE THE LEASE OF THE N. C. R. R. TO THE SOUTHERN RAILWAY COMPANY. A dispatch from Raleigh sus: Another suit is instituted to in validate the lease of the North Carolina Railway to the Southern Railway for ninety-nine years. This one is brought by Mr. and Mrs. Peter Cobb, of Guilford county, who are stockholders and is to annul the lease, the conten tion being that even if tti North Caioliua Railwav Com pany had the pover to lease its road it could only do so by tin unanimous vote of all its stock holders. The attorneys for the Farmers' State Alliance who had instituted the other suit whic was to take avvav the charter of the road wanted to induce som stockholder to sue to test th legality of the lease and now have had this second suit brought Big Damage by Floods. The value of corn destroyed in the Osage vallev in Missouri during the recent floods is est: mated at 2,000,000.
