H. Hollings j worth of Beaman street, died sudden I l.v Tuesday morning after a short ! illness at the home of her uncle, Dr. I E. T. ' COLE, OF FOUR OAKS I KILLED IN AUTO WRECK j I Dunn, Aug. 4.—Lindsay Cole, 'of J Four Oa<ks, Johnston -county, was killed almost instantly late Sunday afternoon when the Ford coupe which he was driving turned over on the highway between his home town and Benson. The car was being driven at fast speed when it was seen to swerve to either side of the road and then turn over three times before it stopped. The unfortunate man died in a few minutes. His body being badly mangled and the. car demolish ed. „ He was 32 years old and unmar ried. MEETS The United Daughters of the Con federacy met Tuesday afternoon with the president, Mrs. J. R. Hiatt at her home on Lisbon street. Plans were discussed and arrangements made for sending a box to the Confederate Wo men's home. Additional markers are to be bought and placed at the graves of Confederate soldiers also. The meeting was well attended and proved most interesting. The next regular meeting will be held Tuesday, Sep tember 2.
