Justus, formerly of Brevard 1 where they were in the laundry bus > iness. ■ Two coal mines were visited by the ' party the Carswell and Keystone, at j Kimball, Va. The Carswell mine produces the famous Pocahontas ’ brand coal. This mine is operated on ■ the shaft plan. The Keystone mine > is a tunnel type, and the party was ' allowed to enter the five-mile tunnel 1 and inspect the interior, being ac corded every courtesy. The party left North Fork, W. 1 Va., at 6:30 Sunday morning, arriv '.ing in Greenville, S. C., at 6:30 that afternoon, covering a distance of '315 miles in that period. The trip 1 was made in Mrs. Sitton's car. '1 visiting relatives in this section. ‘ Mrs. R. J. Owen of the Gloucester section visited her niece Mrs. H. G. , Stophel Tuesday. Miss Beatrice Sisk and Miss Olga Fortenberry left Wednesday for Chicago to attend the World Fair. Robert Leathers of CCC camp stationed at Barnardville spent the week-end with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Leathers. Frank Rains who underwent treat ment at Six Mile hospital, was able to return home Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Rogers visited Eddie Towns Monday.
