ti 0 ACCIDENT IS FATAL TOgACKSON Andrew Thomas Jackson, 60, of Isle cf Hope Savannah, Ga., died Monday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock at Lyday Memorial hospital as a result of injuries sustained in an automo 1 ile accident Wednesday morning, October 4th. Mr. Jackson, a produce dealer, was returning to Savannah with a lotjd when the truck he was driving went over a steep embankment about one mile south of Caesars Head. He suf fered a broken back, broken rib and other internal injuries. Some hope was held for his recovery until the early part of this week. A companion, riding with Jackson ■at the time suffered only minor in. juries. The body was taken to Savannah, Oa., in a Moore and Osborne ambu lance. Fuflfsral services! were con ducted from the home Tuesday af ternoon. Mr. Jackson is survived by his wife and two daughters. __ . Hogsed entertained with a dinner party Thursday eve ning in honor of her husband's birth day anniversary. A large white birth day cake with pink candles was on the center of the dining table. Covers were laid for the following guests: Miss Gash, Marion Henderson, Free Landreth, Lipsey Henderson, with i Mr. and Mrs. H. P. Hogsed. Rev. C. C. Reece, our pastor, preached last Sunday night at Dunn s Rock church. Everyone enjoyed the message. Miss Margaret Gash, the primary teacher in the Connestee school, left Thursday for her home at Blantyre to spend the holidays, returning Sun day in company with her father, mother and aunt. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Hogsed spent the day Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. Press Galloway at the Duck worth farm. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Henderson ard two of their friends, all from Spartanburg, S. C., made f vitit to the home of Fidelia Hen dr rson Sa. last Sunday. Krs. Easter Landreth spent the afternoon Sunday at her son’s homo, Ralph Landreth. Quite a number of the Connestee people attended the county fair. Many favorable remarks were made about how splendid the fair was. Little R. E Raxter was the first youngster who tried the greasy pole, but he failed to get the dollar. Rev. A. J. Maniey, founder of Dunn’s Rock Baptist church, preach id a very interesting sermon Sunday morning. • Week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. John Gravley were: Mr. and Mrs. Monroe Gravley and Carey L.
