PRAYER FOR THE PERSECUTED
FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS SAKE
Dear Lord and Master, Thou
wouldst have us, Thy, children, strive
1 after the highest attainment, and
1o Thou hast given us tho Beatitudes
as Thy Divine conditions upon which
we may attain true peace and last
ing happiness. Thou taught us that
we must needs die to self and to the
vorld. Hast Thou not said “Blessed
are they which are persecuted for
ighteousness sake for theirs is the
kingdom of Heaven.”
Thou wouldst have us, blessed
Lord to be loyal and true to Thy
elf whatever the cost may be for
Messing cemos upon those who suf
fer persecution for Thy Bake. !
| May we, like St. Paul, glory in
, tho wounds and scare received in
i persecution as marks of Thine hon
ubie decorations, persecutions for
ighteousness sake, for it is when
. wdo the will of God and suffer for •
[it that we can claim the Divine
' Blessing.
Are we not commanded to rejoice
and be exceedingly glad when called
to suffer for Thy sake, dear Master.1
n the thought of Thy Blessing of
the persecuted, let us resolve to be
ven reckless in obeying Thee, come
what may. Let us resolve never to
abandon principle or to surrender
truth for the sake of peace, and in
matters of conscience let us not
fear to offend an evil world what
ever the consequence may be. Come
shame, reproach, hardship, loss per
secution, may we never deny Thee
our Lord and Master, though all tho
world be against Thee yet not us.
Aril when trouble befall us for so
acting, let us not be discouraged but
rather rejoice and be exceedingly
glad for great shall be our reward in
heaven. We but take Thee at Thy
word when we do this, for didst Thou
not say by Thy Apostle St. Peter,
“Belcved, think it not strange con
cerning the fiery trial which is to
try you. as though some strange
thing happened unto you, but rejoice
inasmuch as ye are partakers of
Christ’s sufferings, that when His
glory shall be revealed ye may be
glad’ also with exceeding joy. ,

FARM QUESTIONS
QUESTION: What is the right
amount of grain to feed dairy ani
) mals during the winter months?
; ANSWER: This depends upon the’
: amount of milk the animal is pro
ducing and to' a lesser extent upon
the breed. With Jersey animals pro
ducing less than ten pounds of milk
no grain should be fed. Where the
production is above ten pounds six
tenths of a pound of grain should be
, added to the ration for each pound
1 cf milk produced in excess of the
ten pounds. The grain supplement is
reduced about one-tenth from this
amount for Guernseys producing
more than 12 pounds a day, and one
fourth for Holsteins producing 16
pounds a day. The grain ration of
I course is dependent upon a plentiful
. supply cf good legume hay, other
wise the grain ration will have to be
: increased.
