Funeral services were held Thurs lay at Boone Crerk church for Jeff Chappell, 73, by the Rev. Bill Hol combe. Burial was made in the cemetery nearby. Mr. Chappell died Tuesday night of last week. The deceased was well known in thi= section of the county and has many relatives and friends here. Miss Gladys Clarke, who has been quite ill for several days at the home of her parents Mr. and Mrs. John Clarke, is much improved. Mrs. Car Glazener is reported quite ill at her home near Rosman. J. W. Owen, who has been quite ill is improving. Herbert Anders is reported quite ill at his home with an attack of flu John Gant of Salem is spending several days as guest of his brother Charlie and Mr. Gant. Iva Lee, small daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Anders, who has been critically ill for several days is muth improved. Norton) His many friends in this com munity were shocked and dwpjy grieved when they heard of the sud den death of Buren Fowlen of Horse Shoe. The family has numerous friends and relatives here who sin cerely sympathize with them in their great bereavement. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Chappell and children, Mr. and Mrs. Hovie Chap pell, Homer, Clarence, Frank and Misses Connie and Arcntse and Jewel attended the funeral of their father and grandfather, Mr. Jeff Chappell Thursday, Funeral^ ar rangements were in charge of t)ic Waihalla undertaker.
