Following were the officers elect id: President, Mrs. 0. L. Erwin; ice president, Mrs. Roy Long; re coding secretary,Mrs. Ralph Ram sey; " consponding secretary and reasurer, Mrs. A. H. Harris; cus oriian of books, Mrs. J. M. Alli son. The program of the afternoon was n charge of Mrs. Eric Rawls, who -ave a most interesting and com nchensive discussion of the life and ad- concerning Andrew Jackson. Vh; business session was presided >vor by the president Mrs. J. S. Seventeen. Refreshments were served by the hostess during the social hour. CIRCLE NO. ONE MEETS WITH MRS. ENGLISH Circle No. 1 of the Methodist -hurch met Thursday afternoon,, at he home of Mrs. E. S. English with seven members present. The chairmen, Mrs. Lula Miller was in charge of the meeting. The Bible lesson was conducted by Mrs Laura Miller, and Miss Florence Kern was appointed to have charge if the Bible study at the next meet ing Plans for future work were discussed. Final work on a quin was completed during the hour, the quilt to be later placed on sale. Refreshments were served follow ing the meeting, after which the cir cle adjourned to meet in April at the horn eof Mrs. D. L. English. CIRCLE CHAIRMEN NAMED AND OFFICERS INSTALLED Chairmen of the four circles of the Presbyterian church were wimed and two recently elected officers were installed at the regular meet ing of the Auxiliary held Thursday afternoon at the Hut. Following are the new circle •hairmen: Circle No. 1 Miss Mamie Lyday; circle No. 2 Mrs. W. M. Cloud; circle No. 3, Mrs. J. W. Smith; circle No. 4, Miss Reha Kitchen. Mi*s I,ouise Kimzey as secretary, and Mrs. J. L. Cobb as vice presi dent, were installed into office. Delegates were elected to the meet ing of the Presbyflerial to be held at Bryson City in May. Mrs J. L. Cobb and Mrs. J. W. Smith were dec ted delegates, and Miss Annie lean Gash will also attend as presi dent of the local organization. Annual reports from the different officers and secretaries were given at Thursday’s meeting. Another enjoyable feature of the evening was celebration of the chap ter’s fifth birthday anniversary during the social hour following the regular meeting. A large birthday cake topped with five little burning candles was an added attraction of the oecascin. Cake nad coffee were served during the social hour.
