DISTRICT B Y, P.U. AT I LITTLE RIVER CHURCH. The lower district of the B. Y.j P. U. met for its regular quarterly meeting at the Little River church Sunday afternoon. The convention opened by the audi ence singing “What a Friend We Have in Jesus,” “Old Fashioned Mother,” and “I Am Overshadowed by His Love,” led by Mr. Mackey and Mr. Hamilton, followed by prayer by Rev. Holtzclaw. j In the absence or the district lea der. Ansel Jones, the county B. Y. p. I', president, Miss Hybernia Ship man. to k charge and presided over the business session of the conven tion. Pisgah Forest anti Little River unions had large representations, and the congregation was the largest at tending a district convention this year. Mackey, of the Pisgah For i st union. The second part of the program was given by the junior H. y. P. U. of Pisgah Forest, under the supervision of Mrs. Cheek and Mrs. Morgan. They sang a song for Mother's Dav and Mrs. Cheek led the sword drill. A quartet. "I Am Satis fied With Jesus.” was sung by Miss Dorothv Souther, Miss Annie Mackey, R. K. Brevard Saturday, with open house held at Lyday M'mortal hospital, Brevard's conmunitv hos pital. Many visitors attended during the reception hours of 2 to 5, v or in troduced to the receiving line and made an inspection tour of the hos pital and its equipment. Quite a number of donations suitable t the needs of the hospital were brought, though it had been pointed out tha’ this was not the purpose for which the event was held. The main purpose of the open house was >n observance of the national day, and to stimulate more interest in the local community ho.-oital. Receiving the guests at the door were: Mrs. Roy Long. Mrs. S. M. Macfie and Mrs. 0. L. Erwin.
