S. CONGRESS j i.i-- I = Whenever and wherever the I Democratic party does not stand ifor the people, I stand with the § people. Party polities should never I take precedence over the interests j of the people. Every legislative I act at the constitutional disposal ! of a humane government should be j enacted as permanent policy to in \ sure to every willing worker a \ place of employment at a recom I per. ? that will let him have the I decencies and moderate comforts | of life. } It has been my experience among | men that more than anything else | the average man wants decent i employment at a livable wage. I The people of America are a i grateful people but they have for I gotten the actual facts of the vet ‘ erans’ case. When the people are I given all the facts, the veteran will ; get justice. 5 I believe the average farmer I knows more about farming than f the average legislator. I believe s there is no bolder torm of taxation \ without representation than the 5 passage of important farm legis llation without firft obtaining the 1 sanction and consent of the man | who tills the soil. • S Let us vote an honorable annuity l for all persons over sixty who are ! dependent on the whims of fickle I charity for uncertain and question 5 able comfort. I It takes too long to put a crook | in jail and is too easy for him I to get out. I Poor men have had their homes I and their farms taken away from 1 them for back taxes, while finan cial barons have set un ways and i means for avoiding all their re 1 sponsibility to our government.
