The meet ing was very enthusiastic and por tends a hard-working, enthusiastic and united organization for the com ing campaign. The people of the county were invited and urged to I examine the records cf the Democratic ■ office holders' for the last two years and to see that the tsrtces had been reduced over sixty per cent below the previous Republican administration, besides paying of< many thousand dollars of county’s indebtedness. Upon motion duly made and unanimously adopted a vote of thanks and appreciation was given to W. E. Breese, chairman of the County 1 Democratic Executive Committee for i the past two years, for his able and efficient work in the last campaign and a vote of confidence was given him. This was one of the largest and most enthusiastic meetings of the executive committee that the county ! ever held. The Democratic County Convention met at 2:00 o’clock p. m. at the court house and while there was not much business to be transacted, delegates from every precinct in the county i were present who were most enthusi astic and who promised their hearty support in electing the entire Demo I era tic ticket. Much interest was shown in the work of the club. We hope to meet with the CHeirryfie^d group again Monday night of next week. Next Monday night we meet at the Selica school house and we hope to have a large attendance. The next spelling bee will be held here Friday night of this week. Rev. Sherman Pearson will preach at the Selica Methodist church on the fourth Sunday, June 24. Jeter Barton, who has had employ ment in Douglas, Wyo., for some time, is home on account of declining health and is with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Barton. The many friends of George Stan di! and Miss May Galloway have learned with interest of their ap proaching marriage which it is said will be solemnized at an early date. The bride-to-be is the attractive daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Pearson Galloway, who recently moved near here. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Hensley were visiting friends and relatives in the East Fork section recently. ; Uncle Bill Williams is spending some time in Brevard on night patrol at. the new swimming pool which is being rushed to completion.
