Brevard high school ended the grid
season here Friday afternoon, play
ing five games at home with no team
crossing the Brevard goal line, al
though such aggregations as Christ
School and Swannanoa were included
in the schedule.
Fruitlaad Institute was decisively
turned beck Friday by a 25-0 score,
first tally being made on the second
play of we game.
Brevard kicked off to Fruitland’s
18 yard line where the ball was
downed. On the first play Gerran
tried a “sneak" pass to Jones who
was playing end. The ball waa on the
upper side of the field and the left
end “laid out” on the lower side of
the field, running forward about 15
yards. However, Misenheimer, dimin
utive halfback, was at tha receiving
end of the pess when the bell arrived
where Jones was supposed to be
Misenheimer was there, slapped the
ball into the air in an effort to break
up the pass, and as it came down,
tdok it on the run over the goal
line. Try for the extra point failed.
Kicking again to Fruitlaad, the
locale held for downs and started a
drive that placed the ball on the one
yard stripe from where Pickelsimer
carried it over. Again the try for
extra point failed?
. Siniard scored in the second quar
ter After another concerted drive had
put the ball into scoring position,
and again the try for extra point
failed.
.Near the end of the fourth quar
ter Brevard again scored, Siniard
going thrqugh center for the marker,
and a pass, Morris to MisenneUner,
counted for the extra point.
All players of the high school
3usd saw action in the game, some
the “tiny” boys showing up ex
ceptionally well in tackling and
blocking.
Brevard made 13 first downs, nine
of them in succession, five on making
one score and four in making the
next score. '*
Brevard tried five passes and
completed two while the visitors tned
six and completed none.
Five games have been played at
home, the score reading for the home
games as follows: Christ School, 6-0;
Pickens, 13-0; Cherokke, 7-0; Swan*
nanoa, 7-0; Fruitland Institute, 26-0.
Three games away from home netted
a 26-0 win for Brevard at Franklin,
while Farm School was winner by a
29-0 score and Canton by 7-2.
