Brevard College In Musical Presentation “Lolawala. or the Maid of Niagara.” a three-act dramatic operetta, was abiy presented by the glee clubs nt Brevard College Monday ami Tues day evening's ol’ last week in the Bre vard high school auditorium. Miss Charlotte Hatcher, voice instructor at the college, was director of the play. The stage setting and decorations were appropriate to the Indian tl erne of the operetta and added much to the enjoyment and interest of the performance. The costumes also lent color to the effective scene. The orehestia, under the direction cf Professor I>. S. Trammell, head of the music department* was * n ini portant feature of the production. Miss Ruth Sylvester starred in the tile role, with’ Marshall flouts por traying the Indian chief. They were able supported by a Is rue cast of chat Jeters, featuring c h o r u s e s. Indian hunters, soldiers and maidens. This first operetta ever given at Bre vard College was generally pro nounced a highly successful perform ance, reflecting credit on the director and those taking part.
