PISGAH FOREST NEWS The revival at the Baptist church came to a close on Friday evening after a very successful two weeks meeting. On Sunday afternoon a large crowd gathered for the baptismal ser vice which was held in the Little Mountain section, when twenty-four candidates were baptised, with the pas tor, Rev. J. L. Underwood In charge. Among the guests of Miss Julia Denver at Fern Crest are: Mr. and Mrs. John Deaver of Umatilla, Fla., and Mrs. Jackson and son of Atlanta, Ga. Mrs. Wilson McCall and daughter Do:, of Hendersonville, spent Satur day with Mrs. McCall’s mother, Mrs. Julian Allison. Miss Maybelle Allison and Oscar Oaaperson spent the Fourth with Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Cothran at Averys Creek. Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Johnson spent several days at Robblnsville last week where they were called at the death of Mrs. Johnson’s granJmother. Mr. and Mrs. Klah Hollingsworth and two children and Mrs. Carl Galloway and daughter Shirley, spent Satur day in Saluda where they consulted j Dr. Smith. July J2—Mrs. Mary Ellen Bagwell, wife of James Lee Bag well. died Wednesday night of last week at a Greenville hospital following a short illnesa Mrs. Bagwell was well known In the Brandon community, where she had resided with her family for 20 years. The residence Is 18 Hatch street She was formerly of Del Rio, Tenn.. and was born and reared there, a daugh ter of Mrs. Laura Norwood and the late Francis Norwood. She was a member of the Methodist church of Del Rio, Tenn. Besides her husband, Mrs. Bagwell Is survived by three daughters, Misses Belvla M., Gladys E. and Esther N. Bagwell; four sons, Fred Troy, James Lee, Jr„ Grady T. and Albert A. Bag well, all of Greenville. An infant son died July 4th. Owen and a num ber of others made a trip to Myrtle Beach last week, Mrs. Avery Reid, on Tuesday of last week had the misfortune of falling and breaking one of her fingers on her right hand. Bill Lee had the misfortune of shoot ing himself In the left shoulder near the home of James Fisher last Sat urday night. Dlllle Fisher and George Odell took him to a doctor at Brevard for treatment. Chris Fisher went to Brevard to see Dr. Newland Sunday afternoon. His health Is somewhat worse than It has been . He Is thinking of going to a hospital at Johnson City, Tenn., at an early date. Charles McCall cut his foot serious ly one day last week, and Is having to use crutches In order to be able to exercise himself. Ml Si Jessie Fisher, who has been very sick for some time, Is much bet ter at this writing. Mrs. Agnes Lawton of East Flat Rock has been visiting relatives here during the past week.
