The pigeon is of varie gated color, with white predomi nating. Two bands were around the pigeon’s leg—one a white metal band on which was inscribed “Aug 42, WJC 671,” and the other a green rubber band on which wac “A-240.” Mrs. Staton said that she and her little boy fed the pigeon when it first arrived and that it appear ed very hungry and thirsty. It was allowed an opportunity to fly away again, but refused to leave the place for any length of time and also refused any association with otner birds in the neighborhood. “The only interest I have in keeping the pigeon,” Mrs. Staton said, “is that I want its owner to get it back, since it might have carried a war message of some sort.” Perhaps the bird is spending a vacation in “The Land of Water falls,” some one aptly pointed out. However, Mrs. Staton is afraid the pigeon is in miltary service and that it will overstay its leave and be placed in the AWOL class. the Norse haven’t cold feet.
