ED ANDERSON TO PRESIDE AT NEA MEET IN CHICAGO Will Also Speak On News print Outlook. Times Pub lisher Is Member Of WPB Board. Ed M. Anderson, who was re cently appointed chairman of the legislative committee of the Na tional Editorial association, will preside at a meeting of the N. E. A. advisory council in Chicago this week end, and make plans to pre sent testimony before the Senate Banking and Currency committee when hearings on the Bankhead bill are started on Tuesday, Oc tober 19th. Mr. Anderson has the honor of being the first NEA legislative chairman appointed to this import ant position without having first served as president of the National Editorial association. At the meeting in Chicago he will also speak on the newsprint outlook. Mr. Anderson represents the 10,000 non-daily newspapers of the nation on the advisory com mittee of the printing and pub lishing division of the War Pro duction board and is a member of the WPB task committee which Annual Chamber Of Commerce Meet To Be Held This Month Plans for holding the annual meeting of the Brevard chamber of commerce are now being made and all members who have not paid up their dues are urged to do so at once. It is understood that this is necessary in order that members may be eligible for directors or officers. The organization now has one of the largest memberships it has ever had and interest in it and its activities is extremely good. A regular meeting of the direc tors will be held next Tuesday night. Dick Carter, one of the owners of the Co-Ed and Clemson theatres here, who entered service some time ago, has arrived in North Africa. He is attached to the army air forces. Former Major League Player Visited Here Zinn Beck, former major league baseball player and now a scout for the Washington Senators, spent last week-end in Brevard visiting his old friend, E. E. Fraser at the country club here. After playing a good many years with the Cards and Yankees, Beck managed Columbia and Green ville, S. C., ball clubs.
