SUPPLY OF ILK NOW IS ADEQUATE Transylvania Dairies Has A Surplus To Furnish New Customers After two or three years of dili gent and continuous work among the fanners in this county, Ralph Parrish, manager of the Transyl vania Dairies, said yesterday the supply of milk had been enlarged to the point where he is now in position to take care of all pres ent demands with a surplus re maining to provide for increased consumption in this territory. Mr. Parrish saw in this develop ment a result of the intensive ef fort that has been made in this county to promote an ambitious livestock program along with a diversified system of crops. Most of the milk obtained by the local dairy comes from Tran sylvania farms, but a small amount is imported to insure an adequate supply of grade A milk. Mr. Parrish pointed out in this connection that in many parts of the country milk is growing scarce due to a number of factors relat ed directly to the war, chief of which is the labor situation and the increasing price of feeds. “We have worked hard to en courage our farmers to produce milk as an integral part of their farming operations,” Mr. Parrish said. “As a result of this patient and persistent effort, we have in this county today more milk than we actually need while in some other parts of the country there is a growing scarcity.” SERMON ANNOUNCED Rev.
