SENSE AND NONSENSE By Jean Hall With the Christmas rush sweep ing everyone off their feet, take time off from writing Santa and [just take it easy for a while and | let me (the one and only!) tell j you who is sweeping who off their feet here at R. H. S. Nearly as nice as a Christmas gift, don’t you think? Well-1 said “nearly” didn’t I? Wow! Judy B. is stretching that smile of hers. The reason; her cur rent heart interest has just decided to stay home instead of going to Kentucky. Someone has just said that some one else was sad because Mildred C. was with Boice W. at a party. Someone said for someone to tell someone that someone else wasn’t 'nary bit sad because someone was with someone. (Will “someone” explain this?) “You can’t put out an old flame” .... I hope,” says Mildred B. We get the point after seeing her and Lee B. together at the Junior play. Cecil Q. is very content to be isick just as long as Lyle G. visits him. Good deed for the day, or is there a romantic angle connected, Lyla? “Mind if I tag alone” mourn fully (???) sings two well known guys after finding out that several well known girls were just string ing them along. Awful to sudden ly discover you are being played for a “phony”, eh boys? “Shorty” M. is really going places during this man shortage. He always has a line of girls wait ing to be taken home from church, I hear. Gracious, imagine, at his age!!! Crash! Droop, droop, gangway folks, here comes Bob R. and the crash was his hopes crashing around playboy yesterday and for gotten man today. He just discov ered that Wayne H:, Harold B and “Leek” are the ones ranking number one with his three for mer girls. (May I borrow a base ball bat a moment?) Serves yot right Bob. Doris P. nearly felt like leaping into the air and clicking her heels Friday, and all because of a let ter that came drifting in from Bainbridge. Now, just how did that happen. Sends Greetings SGT. ECK L. SIMS, above, is in the quartermaster corps of the U. S. Army in overseas serv ice in North Africa. He sends Christmas and New Year greet ings to all his friends in Tran sylvania county.
