LEE (Arrived Too Late For Publication Last Week) ' DIES IN SPARTANBURG Charles J. Lee died at his home near Spartanburg, S. C., Friday afternoon, November 29, after a long illness. Mr. Lee, who was 77 years of age, was a retired well driller. He was a native of Spartanburg coun ty, S. C., but lived with his fam ily at Lake Toxaway for many years prior to moving back to his old home near Spartanburg. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lelia Lee, three sons, Charles, Ray and Leroy Lee, all of Spar tanburg!, and fou* (Stepchildren, Mrs. H. D. Lee, Mrs. Lewis Tins ley and L. H. Thomas, of Lake Toxaway and Lester Thomas of Spartanburg, S. C. Funeral services were held Sun day afternoon at 3 o’clock at Floyd’s Funeral Home, in Spartan burg conducted by Rev. S. B. Mc Call, of Lake Toxaway. Interment was at Philadelphia cemetery. Personal News Items Coleman Owen, who underwent an operation at the Baptist hospi tal several days ago, was able to return to his home here Sunday. Born to Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Owen, November 26, a son. Mrs. Ray Nicholson, who spent several weeks in Frostproof, Fla., has returned to the home of her mother, Mrs. Carrie Rogers. Stokely Wilde, who has been stationed with the marines in De troit, Mich., is visiting his par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Wilde. Mr. and Mrs. Chris Rogers and and three daughters, of Brevard, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. H. D. Lee, on Thanksgiving day. Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Carter and lit tle daughter, of Statesville, spent a few days last week visiting Mrs. Dock Banther. Miss Lucy Tinsley, a student at Greensboro College for Women, spent Thanksgiving holidays with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Tinsley. Mrs. Carrie Wilbanks is visiting relatives at Greenwood, S. C. In the passing of Charles J. Lee, who died at his home near Spar tanburg, S. C., November 29, his family has lost one who was faith ful and kind and the community one of its very best citizens. Smith has joined the executive staff of Ecusta. In making this an nouncement, Mr. Straus stated that Mr. Smith would assist him in handling the many details incident to the continued development of the business. With Mr. Smith’s assistance, Mr. Straus said he expects to be able to give more of his own time to the welfare of employees, cus tomer relationships, and to plans for future expansion of production and sales.
