During the business session a list of old people and needy fami lies in and around Rosman was made. At the Christmas season gifts will be carried to each one from the club. Mrs. Joe Osborne gave an inter esting talk on “Best Loved Trees in America.” Refreshments were served by the hostess, assisted by Mrs. Paul Stroupe. The next meeting will be held December 14 at 7:30 with Mrs. Paul Stroupe. PERSONAL ITEMS Mrs. John J. Culler and daugh ter, Miss Mary Buchanan, have re turned to their home in Macon, Ga.. after spending several days visiting the former’s daughter, Mrs. Joe E. Osborne and Dr. Os borne. They were accompanied home by Mrs. Osborne and Mrs. E. M. Collins. Mr. and Mrs. N. S. Galloway and daughter. Miss Thelma Galloway, spent Sunday in Edneyville visit ing Mr. and Mrs. Claude Laughter. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Stroup and sons. Tommy and Johnv, are spend ing several days in Lake City. S. C.. visiting Mrs. Stroup’s aunt, Mrs. Frank Sims and Mr. Sims. They will also visit Myrtle Beach, S. C. Born to Mr. and Mrs. Richmond Powell a son. Harry Rogers, Nov. 3. at their home near Rosman. Born to Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Fowler, a son Nov. 7, at the nom<? of Mr. and Mrs. Scott Wood in Rosman. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Lail announce the birth of a son. Oct. 26. at their home near Rosman. Cpl. and Mrs. Joe Cantrell an nounce the birth of a son, George Wayne, Nov. 1. at their home near Rosman. Cpl. Cantrell is sta tioned at Ft. Benning, Ga. Mrs. Cantrell was before her marriage Miss Ola Butler. Mr. and Mrs. George Smith, of Easley, S. C.. were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ladd Albertson. C., Mr. and Mrs. John Rosman High Honor Roll Is Announced There were nine students in Rosman high school who made the honor roll for October, and 23 were listed on the A and B honor roll, according to an announce ment by E. F. Tilson. principal. Persons named on the A honor roll are Hubert Callaham, Betty Chastine, Mr. and Mrs. Byers and daughter, of Pickens, S. C., Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Fisher, of Brevard, and Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Dutton and daughter, of Rosman. Chief of Police H. C. Wood was ; a business visitor to Hot Springs Monday. A costume pa rade was held in the auditorium, and prizes were given to primary, grammar grade and adult winners. Booths in the gym were set up for entertainment and the sale of food. A total of $261.88 'was realized, and Miss Frankie Moore, home ec teacher in charge of arrangements, v/ishes to thank all parents and teachers who aided in making it a success.
