Anderson iik's "Little League" Will Open Here Saturday Morning Panthers Meet Wildcats In First Game On The Col lege Diamond The Elks’ “Little League”, rep resented by four teams from all sections of the community will have its opening game Saturday morning at 10 o’clock on the Bre vard college diamond. Eddie Varner, grand exalted ruler of the local Elks, will toss the opening pitch, and Mayor J. A. Ford will be on hand to wish all teams the best of luck. The opening game will pit the Pisgah Forest “Panthers” against the Gallamore Hill “Wildcats”. Court Of Honor Slated June 15th The regular June court of hon or will be held on Friday night, June 15th, instead of this Friday night as previously announced, Alex H. Kizer, chairman Of ad vancement, states. The court on Friday week will be held at the Brevard Methodist church, and it is understood that a number of Scouts will receive promotions and will be awarded merit badges at the honor court. The Panthers are managed by Hugh Bradburn, while the Wildcats are TARHEEL WILDLIFE SKETCHES . Kil patrick Also Wins With Grover Suttles pitching 5 hit ball and Playing Manager Fritz Merrell collecting three hits in 4 trips to the plate, Ecusta snap ped a 12 game losing streak Satur day afternoon at Sylva and they went on to win the second game of the double-header. Ecusta nosed out the first game by the score of 6 to 5, and Jim Kilpatrick, tossing a neat 3-hkter, was credited with the victory in the second encounter of the twin bill. Ronald Rogers had a pair of doubles and a homer, and Philip York slammed out three hits, while Fred Mills homered. Kil patrick also aided his own cause with a beautiful four bagger. On Saturday, Ecusta takes on Clearwater here on the beautiful I Camp Harry H. Straus diamond at 3:00 o’clock , and next Tuesday, Beacon comes here for a regular league game. Manager Merrill urges the pub lic to come out and witness the games. “We’re hitting our stride now, and we hope to be winning our share of the games from now on,” he declared yesterday. Suttles will probably take over the mound duties on Saturday, and a large crowd is expected to turn out to witness the perform ance of Ecusta’s dropball artist.
