Brown Stars On Hunting Trip With
Veterans From California Hospital
Cpl. Dwight S. Brown, son of
Mr. and Mrs. John Brown, who lost
both of his legs in Korean fighting,
starred on a hunting trip in Cali
fornia last week and received a
nice write up in several of the Cali
fornia daily papers.
With 23 navy and marine veter
ans, who were all wounded in Ko
rea, young Brown went pheasant,
duck or geese hunting at Klamath
Falls, California, and according to
the paper, “shooting honors went
to the only double-amputee in the
party—Cpl. Brown.”
The article continues: ‘‘Cpl.
Brown came on the hunting trip
in a wheel chair. The corporal has
both legs off above the knees, and
shooting over a dog from the back
of a specially rigged jeep, he bag
ged seven pheasants.”
Young Brown is expected to fly
home from the naval hospital in
California next week to spend the
Christmas holidays with his pa
rents on the Country Club road.
