BALSAM GROVE — John Par
ris, author from Sylva, will give
the principal address at the annu
al “Hospital Day” to be held at
Balsam Grove Sunday, September
29th.
The program will get underway
about 19 a> m., and continue till 4
in the afternoon
A large group of singers is ex
pected to be present, including
Carl Story and his Rambling Moun
taineers from Asheville. Lunch
will be served at the noon hour pic
nic style.
Everyone is invited to make

event at the Albert Schweitzer
Memorial hospital.

baby boy last week in the Transyl
vania Community hospital.
Club Meets
The Community Development
club will have its regular meeting
Tuesday night, October 1, at 8:00
•"dock. The club is leasing the
school building for a Community
center. It will be used for various
community activities. We invite
all our folks to attend this meeting.
Boy Scouts Meet
The Boy Scouts Troop 16 will
have their regular meeting Thurs
<iay night, Sept. 26. They also plan
a marshmallow toast after the
meeting. All the Scouts are invit
ed to attend.
Trustees Meet
The annual monthly meeting of
the Albert Schweitzer Memorial
hospital trustees will be held Wed
nesday night, Oct. 2 at the home of
Dr. E. Gaine Cannon. Trustees
make plans now to attend this meet
ing.

of Mr. and Mrs. Randall Kitchen,
has been sick and out of school
for several days. We hope he soon

been ill for several days. We hope

HENRY C. MCDONALD, of the
architectural firm of McDonald
and Daniels, of Brevard, teaches
engineering drawing at Brevard
college. Mr. McDonald, who
holds a BS degree from Clemson
college, was the architect for the
beautiful new campus center
building on the college campus.
Mr. McDonald is also the archi
tect for the new Brevard Meth
odist church, now under con
struction opposite the entrance of
the college.

Covington, Ga., were dinner guests
last Wednesday of his uncle, I. S.
Sanders, and family.
E. A. Reid made a business trip
to Brevard Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Breedlove

Marietta, Ohio, are here for a visit.

The Pisgah Forest Community
