A program on the elements of
design in flower arranging was
given by Mrs. C. E. Zachary, of
Rosman, an accredited flower
show judge.
The factors that determine the
choice of a flower design, she stat
ed, are the place the arrangement
will be used and the size and shape
of the flowers and foliage to be
used.
Unity or harmony is always the
final goal in arranging flowers,
she declared.
She demonstrated the making
of the massed-line design and the
miniature arrangement.

Fletcher were special guests at

THANK YOU
After having the privilege of serving the people
of Transylvania county for over 20 years, for reasons
of health, I have sold Varner’s Drug store to Paul
Owenby, Jr., and will no longer be associated with the
business.
The loyalty and support of you, my customers, has
been very gratifying over the years, and it was with
deep regret that I came to this decision. I want to take
this opportunity to express my heartfelt thanks to each
and everyone of you.
To the thousands that I have come to know as my
friends, without whose patronage my business could
never have prospered, this is to let you know that I real
ize what you have meant to me over the years.
Varner’s Drug Store will continue to serve you as
in the past under the able management of the new own
er. Stop in and see him any time. I’m sure he will ap
preciate your business as I have in the past.
