By • John Anderson If you think we are bragging a little bit this - j week, you’re right. And those Tar Heels gave us something to brag 1 about in the Gator Bowl last Saturday. Perfection is the best word for their play. What pleases us most is the fact that football fans across the country got to see Carolina in action against the Air Force. At first, we were annoyed because we had end zone tickets. But four of the five touchdowns the Tar Heels made were right down in front of us. We put our order in on the first day the tickets were on sale, but like thousands of other Tar Heel fans, we received end zone tickets. We believe the players were just as upset as the rest of us about this situation, and they showed it on the field. We couldn’t help but notice that the Air Force cont'ngent was seated along the 40-yard line. But we, won, and that’s what counts. Luckily, we stayed at Jekyll Island, far away from the bad fire at the Roosevelt Hotel. But on the way home, one of our daughters remarked: “Daddy, it wouldn’t have made any difference whether we had been at the Roosevelt. You would have had us up and on the way to Brevard long before the fire broke out.” I After the game, we went to the Carolina dress ing room and chatted with Jerry Cabe, who played a terrific game. Jerry wasn’t even breathing hard. Undoubtedly, he is one of the best conditioned athletes that we have ever seen. We are making a note to watch him wrestle this winter, but he can’t be any more spectacular than he was last Saturday. We saw lots of good friends down at Jack* sonville. Luther Hodges was looking as digbified as ever and he made an impressive address Saturday morning at the pep rally. We congratulated him on his excellent work in Washington, and we hope to have him visit here next summer. Brevard fans were everywhere in Jacksonville, and daughters Mary Ina and Penny, and son, Jon E., had the time of their life. There was so much to see, and the color and the atmosphere were out of this world. Miss America is just as beautiful in person as She is on tv . . . the Du Pont high school band, of Jacksonville, was better than the college bands . . . the weather was ideal . . . the people were all so friendly and most cordial . . . and we hope you en joyed the game as much in your living room as we did in the stands. Now w«» ran th^t we h^ve finally s<*en a Caro’ira victory In «• B'wl - ame! It w»s wonderful! ROGERS MEAT PROCESSING PLANT PHONE 883-5849 What 7c Will Do To A Pound Of Your ork.
