Using the directories as a guide, the names, McCall and Owen, are the most popular ones in Transylvania. Each had 48 listings. The Galloways are second with 42, and you guessed it, the Smiths are next in line with 37 listings. An Army recruiting poster lowntown showed three eager coking soldiers. The first sol licr was pictured as saying: ‘T vant education”; the second: ‘1 .vant travel"; and the third: "I vant security”. Underneath, some anonymous log-face had scrawled in big, tnack letters: ‘T want out!" Wo me grateful to Mr. and Mrs. Roy McCall for sharing with us part of their last let ter from their daughter, Mar tha, who spent Christmas in Jerusalem. Martha and her husband have been teaching with the TEA Corps, and they said the most inspirational part of their travels was in Bethlehem, where they walked through the old City and along the way to the Cross. She referred to the visitors in Jerusalem as pilgrims in stead of tourists, since most of them are pastors, priests, nuns, etc. Their visits included trips to Jericho, the Dead Sea, the Inn of The Good Samaritan, the Mount of Olives and other famous places. Their school was out in De cember, and they plan to ar rive in New York on February 28th and here in Brevard in early March. In the meantime, they will visit friends in various sections of Europe. The next term of the court is set for Feb. 17th, and a ses sion of Superior court is slated to begin on Monday, Feb. 3rd. The following verdicts were handed down Monday. William Philmorc Walker, charged with displaying stolen plates and no insurance, sus pended sentence on payment of fine of S25.00 and costs.
