ty women showed their mastery
in volleyball by dropping only
one game while winning ten.
The team is composed of Mrs.

the Mars Hill girls here at Bos
hamer gymnasium on March 3,
by a final score of 38-32.
The Brevard girls, coached

an early lead and were never
in serious trouble throughout
the ball game.

men under the sponsorship of
the Gun Club, met on the col
lege property across the French
Broad River, in the first of a
series of competitive shoots
outs.
The first event, the .22 rifle
at 30 yds. was won by Roland
Day, scoring 44 of a possible 50
points. Second place went to
Barry Wheeler, Charles Payne,
and Junior Carpenter, all scor
ing 37 points.
The second event, the .22 pis
tol at 25 ft., was won by Wayne
Kelley; Junior Carpenter was
second.
The third event, the still
target shotgun at 30 yds., was
won by Pete Skarinka, a dark
horse to the shotgun event.
Pete put 8 pellets in the bulls
eye with this single shot.
The last event, the clay pig
eon, was won by Randy Bur
nett, who hit 9 out of 10. Sec
ond place went to Fred Davis
and Barry Wheeler with 8
out of 10 each.
Because of its great success,
the Gun Club is planning anoth.
er shoot in the near future.
Track Season
Opens On 13th
The Brevard College track
team open their season here at
Brevard on Monday, March 13,
when they entertain the Pan
thers of High Point College.
Coach Thad Talley has his
Roadrunners well in shape and
ready for this non-conference,
practice meet with High Point.
The field events will get under
way at 3 o’clock and running
events will start at 3:30.
“Please come out and sup
port the Tornadoes this coming
Monday and show them that
the Brevard College students
are behind them all the way!”
