Mayor A. M. Sisk Is Unopposed In Rosman's Town Election, 2nd By MRS. AUSTIN HOGSED Incumbent Mayor A. M. Sisk was the only person filing for the mayor’s post in the May 2nd municipal election at Rosman. The deadline for filing was noon April 22. Mr. Sisk, who has served pre viously as an alderman, served one year of the term of the late Austin Hogsed and also for the past two years. Carlos Pangle and Donald Lee Butler, incumbents, also filed as aldermen along with A. P. Bell, Jr., who has been serving as alderman since the resigna tion of Morris Jarrett in Novem ber. This will be the third term for Pangle and the second term for Butler. Challenge Day is set for Sat urday, April 29. The election will be held in the community center with Bes sie Pangle as registrar and W. J. Moore and Mrs. J. E. Osborne as judges. Mrs. Carlos Pangle is the town clerk. Senior Play The senior class of Rosmar high school will present a three act comedy, “Mother Is a Fresh man.” April 28th at 8 p.m. in the high school auditorium. The cast of characters in cludes the following students: Judy Humphrey, Danny Hall, Ann Turner, Steve Wilson, Daw son Hogsed, Katherine Fisher, Bernice Owen, Elaine Owen, Glinda Chapman, Jean Barton, Ann Fisher, Janet Jamerson, Harry Powell, Larry McCall and Danny Patterson. Brady Chappell is stage manager and I.inda Johnson and Dan Thomas are prompters. Dean Henson, of the English department, is the director. Coach Speaks Art Baker, a coach at Clem son University, Clemson, S. Cheerleaders received letters from their sponsor, Mrs. Joann Gordon. Floyd Rogers, a tackier from Clemson, was also a guest. Mrs. Vera Taylor was in charge of the banquet arrange ments. A large crowd was present for the event .which was spon sored by the Rosman Boosters club of which J. C. Cassell, Jr., is president. Revival Revival services are sched uled to begin April 30 and con tinue through May 6 at the Cherryfield Baptist church. The Rev. G. H. Dellinger, pastor of the Turkey Creek Baptist church, will be the vis iting evangelist. The pastor, the Rev. James Parham, will direct the music at the services which will begin at 7:30 p.m. The public is invited to at tend the services. WSCS Officers Newly elected officers of the WSCS of the Rosman Metho dist church have been anounc ed as follows: Mrs. J. C. Galloway, presi dent. Mrs. Hubert Callaham, Vice President. Mrs. Harry Mor gan, secretary; Mrs. Tom Maho ney, recording secretary; and Mrs. Jakie Mathis, treasurer. Mrs. A. W. Bruner is pro gram chairman. Club Meeting The regular monthly meeting of the Eastatoe Community club was held Friday night, begin ning with a covered dish sup per. A business session follow ed with Norris Powell, presi dent, presiding. Plans were made for a home coming to be held at the club center May 7. The group will also sponsor a chicken supper May 26. Mr. Powell showed slides on “Road side Beautification.” A large crowd was present. Honored Mrs. Lina Raines was honor ed with a surprise dinner Sun day at the Eastatoe Community center. The dinner, which was given by her children, was in honor of her seventy-eighth birthday anniversary. She received many nice gifts. Among the out-of-town guests were Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Raines and children, of Rock Hill, S.
