(Times Staff Photo) Book And Plate Club Hears Reports, Reviews The Book and Plate club held its November meeting with Mrs. Julius Sader and heard reports of the defen sive driving course and the district meeting in Hender sonville. Plans for the Christ mas project were included in the business session. The program, given by Mrs R. E. Matthews, consisted of two noiMtetion books which had been, or were, on the best seller list; namely “How to Avoid Probate” by Norman Dacey, and “The New Indus trial State” by John Kenneth Galbraith. She pointed out the first named book had sold 700,000 copies, but that the Legal Profession had taken steps against it because the author was practicing law without a license. The second book deals entirely with the economic world in this coun try. and while eminently readable it is a book by a professional economist in which economics is treated with a cavalier disdain. The club will meet with Mrs. Robert T. Gash in De cember and the program will feature Christmas music. smc ju m.
