mas was spent very quietly in
our section with some visiting
and no accidents reported.
The sick and elderly folks
wish to express heartfelt
thanks to the Cathey’s Creek
Baptist church for the fruit
baskets and gifts from the
church on Christmas eve. They
were much appreciated.

ited Mr. and Mrs. Carley Mann
over the weekend.

two million living Americans
have suffered a stroke, with
two of every three strokes vic
tims surviving the initial stroke.
A CHRISTMAS STOCKING,
containing 50 one dollar bills, was
presented last Friday afternoon to
Miss Bronith Brown, who resides
on Whitmire street, by John I. An
derson on behalf of Radio Station
WPNF and the sponsors of a spec
ial Christmas promotion. Miss Brown
is an employee of the American
Thread company, and she said the
money was a good Christmas pres
ent. Her name was drawn from a
box that contained all the names of
those 'persons who registered at
Miller’s Laundry, Mims and Lyday,
Brevard Jewelers, Varner’s and at
Patterson’s while Christmas shop
