Little River By MRS. GEORGE HUDGINS LOTUS RIVER—The Little River Communmdty club met last Thursday night at the com munity center. There were dis cussions on work to be done on the community center and some plans for the judging in Octo ber was discussed. Also a com mittee was aippointed to elect officers for the coming year. They are to report at the next meeting Sept. 19. Coronation service was held Sunday night at Little River church. The theme was, Train ing For Service and the intro duction was by Margaret Kil strom. Margaret Keener. WM.U. President Barbara Miller. A large group attended the Intermediate Training Union Fellowship Sunday night at the home of Mr .and Mrs. Elmer Holtzclaw. The Sunrise class of Little River church is planning a cov ered dish supper at the commu nity building on Thursday night Agu .22, 7 p.m. for M/Sgt. Louie Raines and family who will be leaving Sunday for Davis Mon than A.F3.| in Tucson, Arizona. Everyone is invited. Christmas in August?? Yes rod every one is invited to at tend this big Christmas party Wednesday night at Little River church from 6:30 to 7:30. All children from 3 to 8 years are invited. You may share in this party for the Goodwill Center of Bristol, Va. by bringing or sending articles needed such as tooth paste, tooth brushes, cray ons and color books, wash cloths and soap. The amual Corn reunion was held Sunday, Aug. 18th, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Lee Settles in Inman, S. C. It was well attended with several states being represented. It will be held next year at Little Riv er community center. The offi cers for next year is C. L. Corn of Pisgah Forest, President. Enjoying a cook-out Monday night with the Smiths at Little River camping resort were Mr. and Mrs. George Hudgins. M/ Sgt. and Mrs. Louie Raines, Me linda and Bryan, and Lee Whit mire. Visiting in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Hawkins over the weekend were Mr. and Mrs. G. T. Turner of Jacksonville, Fla., and Mr. and Mrs. George Bryan of Royston, Ga. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Miller re cently moved to Little River community. They purchased the property from the McMahans add have moved their trailer on this site. Mr. and Mrs. Larry McCall at tended -the McCall reunion Sun day in Clyde. Martha Sue Mackey is home after doing missionary work in Gastonia during the summer men'hs. She will return to Ap palachian State College for the fall term. Sherwood Mackey is home from Berry College, Ga. Srndra Bradley is home from W. Carolina College. She was a native of Siwan nanoa and had resided in Bre vard for several years. She was a registered nurse and had been connected with the Transylvania Community hospital.
