FROM THE EDITOR'S CORNER
By
EDITOR JOHN ANDERSON
We all hare our problems.
Jut some of a* hare mere
H than ethers.
; We had a press breakdown
Tnesday, and part of the
»>per to printed on The
> Times press, while the rest
was printed by the “offset"
®ethod in Waynesrflle. It's
> nice to hare friends like
Cnrtis Russ, Clifton Metcalf,
- Marion Bridges aqd the other
staff members at the Moun
Vi taineer.
We had planned to print
v *onr eectlons this week, so
we numbered the first sec*
- tlon that we printed, section
four. Then section three.
Then the breakdown.
I Since the Mountaineer can
print 1C pages at one time,
our first and second sections
are included in the first sec
tion. Therefore, we do not
hare a section two this week,
but you’ll find that you hare
32 pages in all in your paper.
Several Colleges and Univer
sities are seriously considering
signing up quite a few of the
1970 Blue Devils.
There should be a few an
nouncements during the next
day or two.
We’re happy to report that
our school, Carolina, wants
Gary Nelson. So does State,
Clemson and others.
Gary and his mother saw the
Carolina - Duke game, and they
were impressed.
Bill Norris tells us that Gary
played a whale of a ball game
in the Shrine Bowl, both on of
fense and defense. But let him
tell you about it on the Sports
page.
This is a brief story with
a happy ending.

Joke of the week . . .
A girl was taken out to lunch
by her boyfriend end upon re
turning, be told her little
brother that she was spoiled.
The brother denied that she
was spoiled and said it was
just the perfume she was wear
ing that made her smell that
way.

Farmers Should Advise ASCS
When Farmland Changes Hands
Farmers participating in pro
grams administered by the Agri
cultural Stabilization and Con
servation Service should report
to the County ASCS Office any
sale or purchase of farmland,
according to Glenn A. Whitmire.
Chairman of the Transylvania
County Agricultural Stabiliza

Committee.
“I strongly urge those who
have added to or reduced the
size of their farms to get the in.
formation to the county office
as soon as possible,” said Mr.
Whitmire.
He pointed out that when the
size of a farm is changed, the
ASCS records must be changed,
