I Since the Mountaineer can print 1C pages at one time, our first and second sections are included in the first sec tion. Therefore, we do not hare a section two this week, but you’ll find that you hare 32 pages in all in your paper. Several Colleges and Univer sities are seriously considering signing up quite a few of the 1970 Blue Devils. There should be a few an nouncements during the next day or two. We’re happy to report that our school, Carolina, wants Gary Nelson. So does State, Clemson and others. Gary and his mother saw the Carolina - Duke game, and they were impressed. Bill Norris tells us that Gary played a whale of a ball game in the Shrine Bowl, both on of fense and defense. But let him tell you about it on the Sports page. Whitmire. Chairman of the Transylvania County Agricultural Stabiliza tion and Conservation Service Committee. “I strongly urge those who have added to or reduced the size of their farms to get the in. formation to the county office as soon as possible,” said Mr. Whitmire. CLAYTON, JR., son of Doctor and Mrs. W. S. Clayton, of Brevard, has been commissioned a sec ond lieutenant in the U. S. Air Force upon graduation from Officer Training School (OTS) at Lackland AFB, Tex. Lieutenant Clayton, se lected for OTS through com petitive examination, is be ing assigned to Moody AFB, Ga., for pilot training. The lieutenant graduated from Brevard High School in 1966 and attended Brevard Junior College. He received his B. S. degree in zoology in 1970 from North Carolina State University.
