Brevard High School Ranks High In Mathematics Contest Arthnr Ml. Smart, Jrn a * senior at Brevard High School, tied for flrat place in the state with his score on the lfU High School Mathematics Contest. More than 49M North Carolina high school stud ents participated in the con. test sponsored by the Matbc matical Association of Amer ica and the Society of Ac tuaries. Other members of the team of three students represent ing Brevard High School in cluded Jerry Ammons and George Cline. Ammons received an Hon or*Me Mention Award far Ma scare, which ranked 14th highest in the contest. The combined scores of the Brevard trio earned sec ond place for Brevard High School in the team awards.
