New Link Of Whitewater Falls Road Being Improved By . Wallace Brewer SAPPHIRE - WHITEWATER —Concrete drain ditches are being made on the new link of Whitewater Falls road from the pavement near Whitewater Baptist church to within a short distance of Thompson river. Grass seed is being sown on the banks of the road and this link of road is being readied for paving in the immediate fu ture. Approximately four tenths of a mile is still under construc tion due to he rocky terrain. Some four miles of road will still be unpaved to connect with U. S. Highway 64. A paved road from the pavement at the South Carolina and North Caro lina state line will be needed within the scenic National Whitewater Falls park in order to view scenic Whitewater Falls. We understand that the Na tional Forest Service has plans for the development of the Scenic Whitewater Falls Na tional Park of which his the higest cascades of Eastern America.
