GEORGE HUDGINS LITTLE RIVER—The Little River Camping Resort oOlcial ly opened last Friday under the direction of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Burgess again this year. Little River church is plan ning to have Bible school at night this year and hope all parents will send their chil dren. Cars w:il be around each evening to get them and will see them safely home at night. Don’t forget the date June 7-18 from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. There is a lot of building going on in the community at this time. Hr. and Mr$. Charles McCrary’s new home is well on the way and the new home of Mrs. Reba Kilstrom is almost ready to live in and Mr. and Mrs. Will Farmer are adding some new rooms to their home. There will be a house wvm ing for Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Justice Friday night beginning at 7:30 p.m. Everyone is invit ed to come by and see tpeir new home. We wish to express our sympathy to the family and friends of Homer Israel of Bre vard who passed away May 7 in a Henderson county hospit al after a long illness. He was the father of Ray Israel of this community. We also express our sympa thy to Mrs. Walter Nicholson and Mrs. Gaylard Merrill in the loss of their sister, Mrs. Hin kle of Brevard. Word was received here on Sunday of the death of Rev. John Neal in Greenville, S. C. He was a former pastor of Lit tle River church and will be missed by his close friends and family. They have our deepest sympathy. Visiting with Mrs. Abby Cox Sunday afternoon was Mr. and Mrs. Frank Grover and chil dren Susan and Danney from Piedmont, S. C. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hooker have returned to their home in Plant City, Florida, for a few days. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis McCrary and family spent last week end at Myrtle Beach. Mrs. Susie Pierson from Brunswick, Georgia, spent last week with her sons, Henry and Jerry and their families. Rev. and Mrs. R. D. Gregg of Rutherfordton attended church Sunday while visiting in the home of their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Smith. Margaret Ann Mackey is at home from NCSU for the sum mer and her brother David is home from Pfeiffer College for the summer. Mrs. Anna Merrill has re turned home after spending several weeks with her sister, Mrs. Julia Allison in Florida.
