Services Begin Sunday At Saint Andrews By-The-Lake Saint Andrew’s by-the Lake, the lovely open air chapel at Lake Toxaway, will open for the summer this Sunday, June 13th. The Reverend Luther Lawing, from Brevard College, will be the guest minister for the opening service at 11:00. The chapel was first started as an extention program of St. Philip’s Episcopal church of Brevard but is now an inde pendent chapel. St. Andrews has been supported by summer residents and tourists in the Lake Toxaway area as well as by many residents of Brevard and the surrounding area. From early June through late September, services are held each Sunday at 11:00 a.m., fol lowed by a coffee hour. Every one is invited to attend. For the past six years, Rev erend Lawing and his family have lived in Brevard, where he is a member of the faculty of Brevard college and teaches religion. Before coming to Bre vard, Mr. Lawing was the Chap lin at the North Carolina Me morial Hospital at Chapel Hill. He attended the University of North Carolina and Duke Uni versity. The chapel is located on Highway #281, just a minute off U.S. 64 and overlooking the lake at Toxaway, with the moun tains forming a background for the altar.
