Qunn Wan, Miss Glenda Rae Gillespie and Douglas R. (Dick) Queen were married Saturday, July 3rd, at 2:00 o’clock in the afternoon at the English Chapel Methodist church. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Alva Gillespie and the late Walter R. Gillespie, of Brevard. Rev. Henry M. King offi ciated at the ceremony. Wedding music was pre sented by Mrs. Eva Gillespie, pianist, and Miss Mary Bis hop, soloist. The bride wore a floor length, organza and satin Vic torian style gown of candle light with lace appliqued skirt. She wore a matching floor length veil, trimmed in lace. 9he carried a bouquet of white carnations and yellow miniature roses. Mrs. Kitts wore a floor length, empire style gown with empire style of yellow dotted swiss. She carried a bouquet of yellow and white daisies. Harrison W. Queen, father of the groom, was best man. Ushers were David Queen, brother of the groom, and Gary Miller, cousin of the bride, both of Brevard. The mother of the bride wore a deep purple dress, with black accessories, and wore a corsage of red roses. The mother of the groom wore a yellow polyester dress with black accessories, and wore a corsage of red roses. Immediately following the ceremony, a reception was held in the fellowship hall of the church. The bride is a graduate of ■ Rosman High school* attend ed Blanton’s business college, and is presently employed by E. L Du Pont de Nemours. The groom is a graduate of Brevard Senior High school and is presently employed by E. I. Du Pont de Nemours and is currently serving with the United States Army. Shook, of Island Ford road, an nounced the engagement off their daughter, Vickie Marie, to Joe W. Collett, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Leroy Collett, of Anniston, Alabama. The bride-elect is a graduate of Brevard Senior High school and is now employed at Brevard Manufac turing Company. The groom-elect is a graduate of Rosman High School and is employed at Sequoyah Woods, Cedar Mountain. The wedding is planned for July 31st at 5:00 o’clock in the afternoon at Faith Baptist church at Lake Toxaway. All friends and relatives are cordially invited. Miss Mildred Jane Ben field was married on Sunday, July 4th, to Kenneth Kyle Greenwood of Rockledge, Florida. Miss Benfield is the daughter of the Reverend and Mrs. Collins M. Benfield of Rt. 5, Morganton. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth J. Green wood of Rockledge, Florida. The couple exchanged vows at 4:00 p. m. in the Oak Hill United Methodist Church in a double ring ceremony with the Reverend Collins M. Ben field, father Of the bride, of ficiating. Miss Brenda Whis nant was at the organ. The bride, in a white floor length peau de soie high waisted A-line dress with full length bell sleeves, was giv en in marriage by her broth er, Carr N. Benfield. She carried a White Bible topped with deep yellow rosebuds. She wore an amethyst pin, a gift of the groom, and a white lace mantilla. Mrs. Sanford Greene of Linville, cousin of the bride, was the matron of honor and only attendant. Her dress was yellow brocade cotton with empire waist and of street length. She wore a matching bow veiled headpiece and carried a single yellow chrysanthemum. Best man was Terry Green wood of Rockledge, Florida, brother of the groom. For her daughter’s wedding, Mrs. Benfield chose a pink linen and lace A-line dress with short sleeves and jewel neckline. She added a match ing veiled hat and a corsage of pink carnations. The mother of the groom chose a bronze and aqua en semble and a corsage of white carnations. The new Mrs. Greenwood is a 1966 graduate of Mor ganton High School and a 1970 graduate of Pfeiffer College where she majored in English and Christian Edu cation. She taught one year in the Burke County Public School System. The groom is a 1965 grad uate of Brevard High School and received a BS degree in chemsitry and biology from the University of Miami, Cor al Gables, Florida. Some of his university training was received in Bogota, Colom bia, South America. He is enrolled in the School of Med icine at the University of Mi ami. The theme was “En vironment — My Responsi bility”. Mrs. Fritz Merrill gave a report on Landscape garden ing. The meeting closed with the club collect. C. Miss Swann is a Technologist in the Nu clear Medicine unit at Walter Reed. She is a 1963 graduate of Brevard High School and received the Reg istered Technologist degree from the Greenville (S.
