Plans have been made for a 35 - voice choir, “Impact Of Spirit,” from Mobile, Alabama, to be presented in concert Wed nesday night, August 18th, 7:15 p. m. at Little River Church with G. We still have several side in the community they are: Miss Sallie Merrill at home after eye surgery in Asheville, Mrs. Will Farmer at home, Mr. May bin is recovering from surgery at Oteen, Mrs. Virginia Watson still improving at home and Claude McMahon improving in Brevard hospital. Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Perry of Horse Shoe visited Mrs. Reba Kilstrom Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Burchette of Washington, D. C., are en joying a vacation at Little Riv er Camping resort. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Kenning ton and Wendy former residents of this community spent a few days last week visiting with friends and they also visited church while they were here. We are always glad to have them back home. Mr. and Mrs. John Edens and friends from Sumpter, South Carolina, visited friends in the community last week and at tended church with us Sunday. Mr. Edens is principal of Sump ter High School. Mrs. Sue Shipman and Haz .el Merrill went to Greenville last week to visit Mrs. Janie Ballew who is in Piedmont Nursing Home and they also visited in the home of Miss Lessie Heath. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Green and Mrs. Frank Brown from Frank lin were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Brown. Visiting with the George Hudgins family Sunday after noon was Mr. and Mrs. D. B. This commercial showed two brothers in a high-speed motor boat. One of the boys was driv ing and had apparently not used this particular hair dress ing. His hair was all tangled and unruly. His twin brother was in the back seat with his arm around a beautiful young lady. His hair was well-combed and apparently he had used this miracle preparation. One of the boys watching the commercial said, “I’ll teil you one thing; I’ll never use that stuff on my hair.” “Why not?” asked the father. The lad looked up at his dad and said, “Who wants to kiss a girl when you can drive?” Self - Diagnosis A nervous woman patient phoned her doctor at a late hour and said, “I now know ex actly what’s wrong with me! VI NATIONAL FOREST* • i- •; The Brevard Board of Real tors hosted the two most Im portant Realtors of North Carolina last Friday at a special meeting at Berry’s Restaurant. The two Real tors, were Clarence B. (“Pop") Beasley, President, of the North Carolina Asso ciation of Realtors, and James L. Bichsel, executive vice president and corporate sec retary of the association. Realtor “Pop” Beasley, be sides being the 1971 presic’ ,nt of the association, is the im mediate past president of the New Bern Board of Realtors and has served as a state di rector for three years. In 1965 he received the Glenn M. Tuck er Award as the outstanding graduate from the N. C. Real tors’ Institute that year. President Beasley is a part ner in the firm of Beasley Kelso Associates, Inc., Real tors - Insures, and is presi dent of East Carolina Asso ciates, Inc., a timber and farming firm. “Pop” Beasley is also a member of the Sudan Shrine, the Elks Club and the Rotary Club. He is a retired Lt. Colonel in the U. S. Ma rine Corps and also an elder in the First Presbyterian Church of New Bern. “Pop” Beasley is married and has two daughters. Both President Beasley and Executive Vice President Bi chsel and their wives have been visiting Western North Caro lina to meet with some of the 53 Boards of Realtors in the state. At their visit with the Brevard Board of Realtors the two guests discussed the state convention to be held at Pine hurst, the legislative action taken by the 1071 General As sembly relating to real estah and recent legal decisions ai fecting Realtors. Bill Leonard, president of the Brevard Board of Real tors, expressed his thanks for their visit and reminded the Board that this is the 50th anniversary of the North Carolina Association of Real tors and that the gold bias - era worn by some of the Real tors were in celebration of this event. The Brevard Board of Real tors has 12 active members at this time. A Realtor is a pro fessional in real estate who subscribes to a strict code of ethics as a member of the lo cal and state boards and of the National Association of Real Estate Boards.
