Canton Edges Minor League All-Stars
3-2 In Pitchers Duel At Canton
Canton’s Farm League All
Stars shoved across one un
earned run in the bottom of
the fifth inning at Canton last
Saturday to edge Brevard’s
Minor League All-Stars by a
score of 3-2.
Canton’s win over the locals
helped in some small measure
to atone for a close 8-7 loss suf
fered here at the hands of Bre
vard the previous week, and
two straight losses to the Tran
sylvanians last year.
The game was a real pitch
er’s duel between Brevard’s
Randy Bryson and Canton's
Mike Heatherly, who both
pitched beautifully.
Young Bryson gave up only
two hits, walked two, and struck
out ten in his losing effort,
while Heatherly, the winner,
also allowed only two safeties,

inning, but got out of it by
giving up only two runs.
Canton tied it up in the bot

ever over Brevard.
The game concluded a most

The Brevard lads parlayed
