The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Shirley Fortune, of Brevard, and Kenneth Grasty, of Orangeburg, South Caro ina. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Q. Carr, of Florence, South Carolina. He is the great grandson of David Nelson Bugg, of Candler, and the grandson of Mrs. Verna West, former Candler resident. The Rev. Charles Pearson, pastor of Blue Ridge Baptist church in Cedar Mountain, conducted the double ring ceremony. A program of wedding mu sic was presented by Larry Pate of West Asheville, or. ganist, and Bill Plemmons of Candler, vocalist, cousin of the bridegroom. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a full length gown of crepe with re embroidered lace empire waist and long sleeves ac cented with sequins and a chapel train of Alencon lace. Her shoulder length veil was attached to a cluster of pearls. She carried a white Bible topped with an orchid. Miss Lois Ann Dills, of Brevard, was maid of honor. \ She wore a full-length em pire gow$, of. purple peau de* soie with a matching velvet Dior bow and carried long stemmed roses. Bridesmaids were Miss Sher ry Beshears, of Sylva; Mrs. Rita Ann Grasty, of Brevard, sister-in-law of the bride; Miss Pamela Dianne Carr, of Florence, South Carolina, sis ter of the bridegroom. They wore dresses like the honor attendant. Junior attendants wearing orchid empire gowns were Miss Dona Lynn Carr, sister of the bridegroom, and Miss Becky Yvonne Stevens. Mr. Carr was his son’s best man. Ushers were Ricky Kenneth Grasty, of Brevard, brother of the bride, Bruce Metcalf and Danny Newton, of Bre vard. Junior ushers were Roger and Kevin Carr, brother’s of the bridegroom. After a wedding trip to Gatlinburg, Tennessee, the couple will reside on Paul Jones Road in Florence, South Carolina. The bride is a rising senior at West Florence High School and was formerly employed by Pisgah Fish Camp in Pis gah Forest. The groom attended South Side High school and is now attending Florence Darlington Technical Institute. He is presently employed by Mer cury Motors in Florence, South Carolina. The couple were entertain ed with a cake cutting Friday evening in the Cedar Moun tain Community Center with Miss Jewel. Dean Emerson, Miss Laurie Hutchinson and Miss Ruth Jones, of Brevard, assisting. The bride’s register was kept by Miss Pamela Talmadge.
